The Moab shock from Cogent Dynamics is the standard by which other shocks are judged in the KLR world. Spring duties are handled by a custom Eibach Racing spring available in either Standard or Heavy-Duty weights. The Standard 8.15kg/mm spring will be fine if you are under aprox 100 kg and don’t ride with large amounts of luggage or passengers often. If you regularly carry large luggage boxes and/or a passenger and weigh over 100kg, you may prefer the Heavy-Duty 9.17kg/mm spring. Comes standard with the CNC machined Bling Ring Preload Adjuster Collar and Preload Bearing that will make preload adjustments easy. Or add the Hydraulic Preload Adjuster to make it the easiest of all. All you do is twist the knob. Includes mounting bracket for knob unit. Choosing the Hydraulic Preload Adjuster adds an additional $599 to the cost. These need to be fitted at time of shock build so shocks with a Hydraulic Preload Adjuster are via order only, simply purchase via the option, shock builds and freight logistics out of the US are approx eight to ten weeks. NOTE – if you have a new 2022 and onwards Gen III it will require the use of a Hydraulic Preload Adjuster. The Gen I and Gen II take one version of remote preload adjuster the Gen III another. There is an interference issue with the adjuster mount position on the Gen III if the rider has Happy Trails, T Rex or similar crash bars. Shocks with a Preload Adjuster are a pre order pre purchase via the option only.
