Basic Emergency First Aid Responder (L1) is a basic course that introduces students to CPR and first aid skills. It teaches students how to deal with immediately life threatening conditions and injuries. It is an ideal course for those wanting an introduction to the life-saving skills of first aid, and be prepared to deal with basic emergencies in the workplace or urban life. Knowing these skills could mean the difference between life and death or full recovery and permanent disability. This course meets the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act for workplace first-aiders. Topics covered: Basic principles of first aid and safety Scene assessment Patient assessment CPR and AED (Baby, child & adult) Choking Bleeding control and wound care Dressings and bandages Head and spinal injury Fractures and splinting Burns Shock, unconsciousness and fainting Medical emergencies & illness Course Facts: Duration: 20 Hours, typically 3 full days.
